is hiring a video journalist and storyteller with a passion for urban issues and city-life, who is able to turn around relevant and compelling videos and contribute to strengthening progrss’ social media presence.

As part of the editorial team, the ideal candidate will have a proven ability to research, storyboard, and produce short videos for a digital audience. The candidate will also be expected to turn around longer videos (~3 minutes) on a bi-weekly basis on relevant trending topics, with a vision for how content can be used for longer videos (~20 minutes).

The candidate will have videography experience and may be expected to conduct professional interviews and turn around videos with original content for a local audience. Professional experience with social media marketing is a must.

Main Responsibilities:

Research, fact-check and prepare storyboards for production;

Monitor media to identify trends and current topics related to urbanization and cities;

Support writers and content team with background research for stories and videos;

Conduct professional video interviews and record footage that can be used to spotlight local urban players;

Produce 5-8 short video stories weekly;

Create / support in creating multimedia content to optimize reports with engaging visuals;

Utilize’s official Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn to share content, maximize reach and drive traffic to the site;

Pitch, research, and storyboard one 3 minute video every two weeks based on relevant urban developments, innovations and trends;

Be heavily involved in weekly and monthly editorial meetings to determine and schedule upcoming content and identify trending topics.


A self-starter who can work in a team to produce meaningful, engaging video content;

Ability to research, storyboard, produce, and turn around video content quickly;

Ability to communicate with third parties to source exclusive video content when needed;

Ability to shoot video and conduct professional interviews for original video content;

A keen eye for digital media trends and millennial consumption preferences;

Ability to interpret and utilize data, graphs and infographics to tell stories and come to conclusions;

A passion for city life, untold stories and urban innovation;

Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and excel under pressure.
