CiviCiti, an independent communication channel, launched in Spain on the sidelines of the Smart City Expo World Congress. The cloud solution creates a platform based on open dialogue between Spanish citizens and their government. It aims to promote democracy and facilitate informed and inclusive decisions.
CiviCiti will ask citizens to partake in surveys to grasp what their major concerns are. It will also feature a gamification system, which applies game-design thinking to non-game applications. The aim of this system is to encourage users to participate in the platform. The platform will also include a comparison system to facilitate data’s comparison between different municipalities.
“After many years of research of the sector, today we present Civiciti, a platform for civic participation that everybody can access, from small municipalities to big cities, free and without any installation requirement,” CEO and founder of OpenSeneca Pablo Sarrias says.
“Technology is not the solution but everybody’s participation and implication. For this reason, we have created an open platform, to share experiences and learn from them,” the company official adds.
“The cloud solution has a free version with optional paid features so any municipality or organization, regardless of its size, is able to implement a latest generation technological solution that until now it was almost exclusive of big cities and organizations,” an official statement released by the company says, stressing that the solution seeks to overcome any technology, demographic or resources-related barriers that could hurdle public participation.
